In the dynamic landscape of small businesses, 2014 marked a pivotal year for Anita's Mexican Foods as we proudly received California State’s U.S. Small Business Persons of 2014 Award and secured the first runner-up position for the National U.S. Small Business Persons of 2014 Award. This recognition from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) not only celebrated our exceptional growth but also acknowledged our contributions to the nation's economic landscape.

A Significant Achievement

Anita's Mexican Foods was honored by the U.S. Small Business Administration for achieving an extraordinary milestone – a growth in company revenues exceeding 100 percent over the past three years. This recognition catapulted us to the forefront of small businesses, showcasing our commitment to innovation, hard work, and dedication.

The Prestigious Small Business Persons of the Year Award

The U.S. Small Business Administration annually selects winners for the "Small Business Person of the Year" across the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. This esteemed award recognizes outstanding achievements and successes of business owners and key executives in small businesses, emphasizing their valuable contributions to the nation's economic prosperity.

Recognition from SBA Assistant Administrator

SBA Assistant Administrator Fred Baldassaro commended the winners, stating, "Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your community have helped you succeed. The SBA is pleased to recognize your achievements and your role in driving our nation’s economic growth." 

National Small Business Week Honors

The year's winners, including Anita's Mexican Foods, were set to be honored in Washington during National Small Business Week on May 15-16, 2014. The event aimed to celebrate the diverse range of businesses making significant contributions to the nation's economic fabric. In that very week when the honorees were celebrated, President Obama officially proclaimed May 12 through May 16, 2014, as National Small Business Week. The President called upon all Americans to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the competitiveness of the American economy with appropriate programs and activities.

Among the 2014 state winners were owners of technology companies, a tattoo business, construction businesses, consulting companies, and a brewery. This diverse lineup underscored the versatility and resilience inherent in the small business community, with Anita's Mexican Foods standing tall among these distinguished entrepreneurs.
