From October 15-17, 2023, our leadership team had the privilege of attending the prestigious SNAC International Executive Leadership Forum, held at the beautiful Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This gathering brought together over 130 snack industry executives and guests for 2.5 days of education, collaboration, and inspiration.
The forum provided a unique opportunity for industry leaders to come together and discuss pressing topics shaping the future of the snack industry. From sustainability initiatives to emerging snack trends and global economic challenges, the event covered a diverse range of subjects designed to foster innovation and growth within the sector.
Our Rising Star Nomination
One of the most significant highlights of our attendance was the recognition of Hector Lopez, our Senior Vice President of Finance & Accounting, as a "Rising Star" in the snack space. Hector's outstanding contributions and leadership within our organization earned him this prestigious nomination, allowing him to participate in the forum alongside other emerging leaders nominated by their respective companies.
The Rising Stars program, organized by SNAC International, brought together seven promising individuals who demonstrated exceptional potential in shaping the future of the snack industry. This initiative highlights SNAC's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering leadership development within the sector, paving the way for continued innovation and success.
WinS: Women in Snacks
In addition to the Rising Stars program, the forum featured a diverse array of speakers and sessions aimed at addressing critical issues facing the snack industry. From sustainability and global economic trends to leadership strategies and women's empowerment initiatives, attendees had the opportunity to gain valuable insights and perspectives from industry experts and thought leaders.
We are particularly excited to note the significant increase in female attendance at the forum, with 43% more female attendees compared to the previous year. As part of SNAC's Women in Snacks (WinS) initiative, this surge in female representation reflects the organization's commitment to promoting gender diversity and fostering opportunities for female advancement within the snack industry.
Our own female president, Jackie Robles, had the pleasure of attending the WinS Breakfast with Guest Speaker Rachel Pacheco, further underscoring our commitment to supporting initiatives that empower women in leadership roles.
Continuing Our Snack Journey
As we reflect on our experience at the SNAC International Executive Leadership Forum, we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with industry peers, gain valuable insights, and celebrate the achievements of rising stars like Hector Lopez. Moving forward, we remain committed to driving innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity within the snack industry, and we look forward to continuing our journey of growth and success.
